Following required procedures, election officials seal the memory card access port
with a wire through the outside end of one bolt.


 


The Diebold AccuVote case is closed with five normal Phillips head screws.


 


Remove the five screws and lift the lid.
The memory card and the inside end of the bolt with the seal are now exposed.


 


The exposed bolt with the seal can be easily removed.


 


The memory card now slides out the access port without disturbing the seal on the bolt.
If the card is altered or replaced and this procedure reversed,
the mischief could be undetectable.
